Driving in the Rain

Driving-in-the-RainA few days and summer will be over.  It’s been warm all summer but today, the weather turned for a change.  I woke up to temperature of 16 degrees celsius, and buckets of rain pouring out from the sky.   Today, I have to go to a presentation promoting the school.  My destination is 50 km away, and according to mapquest,  this should take approximately 50 minutes.

The heavy rainfall coupled with the back to school rush, made the traffic even worse.   My presentation starts at 10:30 am.  I left home at 8:30 am and my Tom Tom GPS had first forecasted an arrival time of 9:20 am, but as the traffic jam worsen, the destination time kept changing until I finally arrived at my destination at 10:15 am.  I had to do my room set up, get the LCD projector and my laptop in sync.   What a day!!!!

Positive thinking, I kept telling myself!  So, what is so positive about today’s experience?   I got a story to tell.  My boss was very nice.  He teased me saying, the next time they’d have to consider a good driver for my job.  You see, I really don’t like driving, and I rely very heavily on my GPS.  In fact, the joke at school now is that Missy needs a GPS to locate her car at the parking lot.
