Bumper to Bumper Traffic after Labor Day
It was bumper to bumper traffic today, as the whole city wakes up to a new school year, when all school age kids are heading back to school.
As this is my first year of work at the E-Institute, I had not experienced this type of traffic in a September morning after a Labor Day weekend.
My work starts at 8:00 am, and my eyes were glued tight to the car clock as it ticks 7:58, 7:59, ….8:02.. I AM LATE! for the first time ever since I started work. OH NO!
I finally arrived at work by 8:05. Five minutes late. It turned out I was not the only one. So classes started 10 minutes after the scheduled start.
The whole city is in a traffic jam, as the entire city kids return to school. I was told that it will continue to be so, for the first week, until everybody gets settled to normalcy.
I suppose this means that everybody will just allow more time for travel. By my count, I will need to add 10 minutes to my travel time.
